Seth's Spice Rack of Insanity

An Open Letter to anyone visiting this page:

Hello.

Once upon a time ago I was a young, single, peculiar man named Seth. I grew older, joined the navy and moved away from home, and currently live in England with my beautiful wife Sarah, our (mostly)charming son Xavier, our loud dog Gabby, and our completely clawless cat Oneira(assuming I've updated this within the last 2 years or so).

As I get older (I'm now 30, can you believe it?) I find myself re-evaluating things going on in my world. I've always enjoyed spending time with my friends, and I truly get along well with my entire family(at least as far as I can tell). Unfortunately, I have never been accused of keeping what could be thought of as..."in touch" with anyone outside of a 15 mile radius of myself. (with the notable exceptions of my wife, and that time in my college career when I worked in the computer labs at least 10 hours a week). Even when my sister Sabia lived on the same floor as I in Laramie, we really didn't see that much of each other.

I just want to say that if you and I once were friends, I still consider you a friend(without exception). If you are family, (or if you once were married into my family), I still consider you a friend as well. Even if we haven't talked or seen each other for years.

I simply wanted to make it clear that my proclivities towards not phoning/e-mailing/snail-mailing/etc have nothing to do with my personal feelings towards you. I don't think I've even talked with my parents for the past three or four months, so don't feel I'm giving you the cold shoulder or anything.

The Origins/Purpose of this page:

When I first set up this personal website, I thought it would be a good place for people who might have an interest in what's been going on in my life...well, since I didn't change it for almost 6 years, I guess I should have a substantial update on the events of my life...and I should change the part that refers to my wife of 3 years as "my friend Sarah". So please enjoy finding those updated tidbits, and if you notice that I've missed something, do please let me know.

As before, this remains someplace I can keep my links, my pictures, and my ramblings about stuff. They're mostly for me, but if you wish to know a bit more about me, feel free to check any of them out. Also, if you want to delve a bit deeper into my life, you can check out my pages about myself, my family, my philosophy, or my resume.

Although I am a big fan of this internet thing, I noticed a long time ago that there's no Quality Assurance with regards to the data you can find online. When I was in college, I really got tired of seeing those pointless pages that abound throughout cyberspace. Well, perhaps their owners didn't feel their pages were pointless, but when I see a page whose sole raison d'etre is to talk about "the best boyfriend in the whole world", or one that only wants to get someone to click "ok" fifteen dozen times, or one with forty-leven dancing furry critters singing a theme from Robin Hood, I feel somehow dumber for having surfed there. It's as though aliens have specifically taken over part of the wwweb in an effort to suck what remaining intelligence our television sets have left us.

Hopefully, this website won't reduce the IQ of anyone who views it, but if you start to feel dumber, feel free to navigate away from it and let me know via e-mail.

To live so that you would not be ashamed to sell the family parrot to the town gossip, is to have lived well.
